Indoor play

My friends in Muskoka have had two feet of snow overnight this week. It is quite something. Lake effect snow! The winds pick up moisture from Georgian Bay, and dump it. My Muskoka friend is having cancer treatments and has to drive an hour to get there. Sadly, that (as well as school busses) were cancelled. You forget how people coping with unusual situations have to cope in situations like this. It's an hour to such hospitals in decent weather.

One year I made snow king and snow queen.

This was Port Carling in 2009 or so! This is what a couple of feet of snow looks like.

Indoor Play

We have had some cold temperatures. I keep telling the goldfish how lucky they are that I brought them indoors for winter! The goldfish pond is frozen.

They are difficult to photograph. They won't say cheese!

This is what the goldfish pond looks like: frozen solid.

Cinnamon has the right idea. He is helping the paperwhites grow. Cell phone photos, but fun.

Jan. 10th!

Jan. 14th!

I must say, most Canadians are rallying in favour of Canada. All except Alberta's right-wing premier. Not a surprise. We lesser mortals aren't getting the attention, however. The rest of us are saying No Way

I ordered us hats! There are a lot of us who have been united by this tariff threat.

We don't allow convicted felons into Canada! I wonder how many countries have similar laws.

Anyway, we made it to Friday, again. I had a lovely visit with my client yesterday. My week is done.
I drove home through a lovely sunset.

I don't know if that is a legit tweet but it sure SOUNDS like something he would do (though I can't imagine him dialing up Charles!) Someone posted a list of countries that don't allow felons in -- and it's a LOT of them. Wonder if the Creature from the Mar-a-Lagoon will figure a way to squirm out of that one, too.

Your snow king and queen are great! Reminds me of a woman sitting in a rocking chair which I created out of snow one year as a teen. Maybe she was knitting. That's a lot of snow. I snickered (sniggered didn't sound quite right) at the conversation with the king. We have clear skies today, so sun is blasting onto my plants in the window. Just need a cat snuggled up as well. Mmm, I'm somehow caught in snickered/etc words.

Your photos are gorgeous and yes, we sometimes forget the havoc snow brings to people’s lives. I am looking forward to seeing you in your hat.

It was nice to bring the goldfish in for the Winter. I love the snowmen. We don't get much snow here but once every few years we might get an inch or two. lol

O Donald. Fixing the laws in your country won't get you into ours.

IF that is a real message from Trump it epitmomises the man. And no, you can't buy Canada. Or visit it. Tough.

Lucky Canadians! I wish we could kick him out of our country!

I cannot imagine two feet of snow on my drive way. I think I'd just lie in the snow and bawl.

I am not looking forward to what Trump will do in the next 4 years. I still cannot believe more than half the American voters put him in office. Arrghhh!

What a challenging situation, especially with the added difficulty of snow and travel in such harsh conditions. It really puts into perspective how much strength and resilience those dealing with health battles must have to face every day. I hope your friend stays safe and finds some comfort during this time.
