🎯 Gun range & wetland news <= the full story
The community fought against rezoning, and were successful. No gun range. I've heard he is planning to appeal to the Ontario Supreme Court, but he hasn't got a hope.
Another story
The dude that bought the former OPP gun range land for $606,000 then divided up his 120 acres into 4 properties.
The 3 new properties were labeled #1688-1, 1688-2, and 1688-3. The original property, #1688, now consists of a road going back into the wetland and surrounding the 3 properties. The wetland is where the OPP gun range used to be.
This is #1688-1, which sold in May 2024 for $121,000, and now houses a trailer. You can see it is very close to the big house on the middle section. Too close for my taste, especially with heaven knows who hunting out back on the wetland. (We can hear them from here. 😣)
$135,000 – after being listed for $165,000, lowered to $140,000. It is now listed for $159,900.
The shed on the right is part of the property for sale. There is an outhouse, as well! The building on the left (see below) belongs to the main house, the top floor apartment is being rented. It is huge and has been renovated. It was in a sorry state.

...they aren't making any new land!
The hunting a little too close would be nerve wracking.
I'm glad that the gun range got voted down.
Tulsa has three gun ranges right together on the north side of town. The police department, sheriff's department and a privately owned public gun range are right together. Thankfully not too many private homes around but two huge parks, Oxley Nature Center and Mohawk Park as well as the Tulsa Zoo are not too far away. On cloudy days with no wind, sometimes it sound like WWIII going on especially with the automatic weapons going. I couldn't imagine having a house.
I wouldn't like hearing the gunshots either.
Hooray for no gun range.
It seems like the end, knock on wood.
Everyone banding together has had the results you all wanted.Hooray!!! Those plots of land and homes, it all seems to be the way now, divide and chop up and make a profit.
It was good news on the gun range but not good knowing there is hunting on land nearby. With us people are losing a lot of land due to our roads being made wider. People who once had large areas for gardening, are all of a sudden looking at busy roads almost next to their windows.
We live about 4 miles from a shooting range. Even though it is on the other side of the river, we can clearly here people shooting their guns.. Lots of range shooting this time of the year
We have a gun range nearby...and since we are a hunting community and our school has a trap shooting team it all works out:)
