Crumbly world

This isn't totally random! These are things Joe and I have talked about. I am usually on my laptop, he on his iPad. We're getting increasingly agitated with the horrible things happening to people.

Our culture, traditions, and values are different north of the border. The US owned newspapers are shaped by American owners.

These Words Are Disappearing in the New Trump Administration – can you imagine?

This is the result of randomly firing people. Not only are they unemployed, but citizens who have paid their dues are suffering.

For those who haven't visited it, this is a typical part of the border between Canada and the US. A clear cut is all that is there in some spots. Our kids went for a walk when they were out west with family. The only way to patrol these is with helicopters, truthfully.

A family nearly froze crossing into Canada

The US Navy is still out there protecting the Black Sea.

After Ukraine had its Starlink communications (paid for by Poland) cut off by Musk, they've been bombing Moscow with drones.

We now have a group "Indivisible, Black Mountain" which makes signs and stands in our town square each Monday afternoon (apparently have the requisite permissions) and just waves to the cars passing by. Honk if you agree is on a few. The unfortunate MAGA residents say they're almost causing accidents, and shouldn't block pedestrians on the sidewalk. I live in a Red state with a Democrat governor and attorney general, but they are hamstrung by a rabid Red legislature. The demonstrations don't show up on the news, but one in Asheville last Saturday for Women's Day had 1000 people and it was mostly against the Musk/Trump administration. We've got lots of veterans, women in favor of choices for their bodies, federal workers fired, park service workers fired...you name it. I haven't stood with them yet, but I might.

The removal of those words. Insane.

Hang in there. I had no idea about your newspapers. And the removal of words makes me angry.
