Wow... the heat, the humidity

Our air conditioning system is about 20 – 30 years old, we think. When we bought the house, the home inspector told us it had put its time in. Thankfully we're still good. I mean, JB and I aren't 100%, but we are hanging in as well as the A/C!

Every time I go out, I forget how humid it is. My cameras keep fogging up. I thought the fogged up photo (#1) rather lovely. I know Anvilcloud has been playing around with settings on a flower photo treatments. This is just an accident!

Down at the pond, a HUGE male bullfrog! (His ear drum is larger than his eye – just in case you wondered, that indicates a male.)

This little tadpole/frog has just morphed!

This critters are quite something. There are quite a few, as well. Belostomatidae or giant water bugs. They also fly. Just sayin'! I've seen them before. [I did not scream like a girl!]
"It has a penetrating semi-retractable proboscis. Think of it as sort of a mosquito way of feeding. It has digestive enzymes... seizes prey in its arms like a praying mantis would.... then jabs its pointy bit into the prey.. and slurps out the goop like a spider."

Back up at the house, while Nancy Jean is dealing with her N.Z. winter, we can share our summer to warm the cockles of her soul! (She's such a wonderful person!) My window box, which is totally decadent, is featuring the most lovely pinks. Eye candy!

It's pretty hot! It's near 40 C.

After dinner, sitting in my chair... Bucky went after the 2nd last hosta standing.

Bucky is a frequent flyer! Quietly sitting amongst the daisies and the devil's paintbrush.

Finally, my first sighting of this year's fawns. It was early, just when hubby went out for his walkies up on the road.

That initial photo has a nice soft focus and glow sort of appeal.

We could have hit a fawn (bigger than that one) the other night. I had to apply the brakes gently enough so that the person tailgating me wouldn't hit me. TG I saw the critter in time so that it wasn't that close of a call in the end. Why you need to tailgate on a country road ...

So many treasures you have there, Jennifer! I love them all and especially liked the action video of the giant water bug chasing it's prey. Polywogs beware! Fawns simply melt our hearts, don't they?

I love your 'fogged' picture - very romantic! It's hot here too. Unbelievable but true. Humid, not so much. Off back to the Hutch tomorrow. YAM xx

Hello Jenn, my lens would fog up this morning with the Zero Celsius out there.Huge frogs, and walks, even though your land is work, it is wonderful to have your own space and privacy, and all those animals that wander in, even if they cause havoc too.XXX

Ok, when it's humid enough to fog your camera … that's humid! But you got a good result! We were walking in snow on Monday at 6,000 feet - today in the valley it was 85 degrees - but we really don't have much humidity … thank goodness!!! I have seen a couple of fawns when I have been out running, but the rest are keeping well hidden. Enjoy your weekend!

Our ac stopped working last Thursday, right before the humidity arrived. Had to have a new one and the installed it Sunday morning. Thank goodness for a cool lower level for sleeping till it got put in.
The foggy lens photos are neat, same thing here with the camera. Thank goodness the humidity is gone today. Surgery on Monday so won’t be around for a few days.
