Yes, it deserves its own post. You revel in the lush outdoors as much as indoors. You can revel in the high humidity indoors and out!
We didn't walk about too much in the gardens outside, this was a short 5-day trip! I introduced the birds from the conservatory, Bloedel Conservatory Birds last Saturday.
Inside the Conservatory, thousands of plants, replaced and cared for by a local florist shop, the volunteer interpreter told us! She was gorgeous, herself! Mari had a binder of information, and walked about sharing what she knew about the birds.
The Bloedel Conservatory is home to more than 500 species of plants from around the world and boasts impressive collections of fig trees, palms, exotic fruit and spice trees, cacti and tropical flowers/ornamentals.
Outside, there is a new zipline! And, no, we didn't try it! Cluny liked the foliage!
The VanDusen gardens are amazing. The statues are so much fun. Even people with selfie sticks made me laugh, usually they are such a nuisance!
This spectacular 22-hectare (55-acre) garden in the heart of Vancouver has matured into a botanical garden of international stature since opening to the public in 1975. The mild Vancouver climate allows the cultivation of an outstanding plant collection which is a delight any time of the year. VanDusen's collection includes 11,500 accessions representing more than 7,300 taxa (plant families) and 255,000 individual plants from around the world.

What an amazing place, did they have golf carts or buggies to take you all round, 55 acres is huge to walk.Is it open all year?
Is it the same Bloedel that was an early owner of our mill I wonder? We've been up at the cabin with limited Internet so I haven't been online much lately. I'll take some time to get caught up. - Margy
