Daisy and I took a walk down to the frog pond

Frisky froggies –see the eggs below!
It's the most exciting season of the year, although I love the changes for them all!

The frogs were singing merrily until we got down there. You can hear them in the first video. The wood frogs are the first to awaken. This is mating season when they call for love.

They all headed for the hills, or, at least, under the water once we arrived. I sat there quietly, and several came cautiously up to the surface. They didn't resume their chorus, even thought Daisy got bored and took off. She was hot to trot.
They are wee, but have mighty croaks!

As I walked around the pond, I spotted this frog. When I went back to the house and uploaded the photo, I realized there were two of them. You can even see the eggs underneath. This is the moment of creation!

The frog pond isn't entirely thawed out!
The water is frigid.
Daisy and I saw a large bullfrog tadpole (they grow for two years before they metamorphose into a frog) and some sort of red water spider! The water beetles are swimming about, too.

I enjoy hearing the frogs at dusk. We garden near my brother's pond and often stay late enough to hear them sing. There is some kind of frog at his pond that sounds like its laughing. It's a bit creepy at night.

It's great that you have so many frogs! They are becoming endangered. I get posts on Facebook from a group called 'Save the Frogs'...it has some good info.

You have far more patience than I do to wait for frogs to put in an appearance.

Such a tiny but lovely frog. Frogs do seem to have exceptionally loud calls for their size.
