NaPoWriMo Day 6 – sensory poem

Day 6 Prompt
Take a good look outside your window. Spend a minute or so jotting down all the nouns you see outside. Tree. Car. Bus. Dog. Then spend a minute or so writing down all the colors you see. Finally, gather some action words.

This is a good one. Good poetry incorporates rich, sense-inducing words, action, and the things you know and see.

What do I see?
deer in thick, fudge-coloured coats
chew on dried grass
blue jays scream territorial cries
high atop budded tree branches
red-winged blackbirds
call meekly from skeletal canopy
hoar frost glistens on lichened rock
sun slowly rises above the frozen wetland

Yes, this is a strong and visual verse. Loved it... and the earlier 'chapters' with the barn and vids. As a country gal I of course adored sharing your tour! YAM xx

Wonderful shots. I know the deer are happy with the snow melt.
