Jean had questions! Here are some answers...
1. Slow vs. fast melt:
I would prefer it go slowly, dripping off the trees bit by bit. It gets so heavy, and the top branches drip on the lower ones. (Believe me, we've had quite a few storms!) Eventually, the weight is so much the branch breaks.
As it turns out, it all melted yesterday and in the night. We had more rain. I cannot see it well in the dark this morning, but it seems as if we didn't lose anymore branches.
2. I don't really use a weather app. I just go to The Weather Network.
3. COVID boosters we get every 6 months. They recommended a new one, for the new variations.
They are testing wastewater in several places in Ontario. Thank goodness they are listening to scientists somewhere. Anyway, the provincial values are twice what they were compared to last year.
We are in the eastern region.

The trees looked so sad. The problem with it is the build up. I've found, with various ice storms, if the branches are left like this for any period of time, they won't rebound when they melt.
I mentioned Friday that the snow seemed to block the TV satellite signal. I had to tap on it with my long-handled tool. It improved immensely.
Joseph Brian went into town for supplies. He wanted me to keep calm!
And, yes, Red, he is King Charles IV. He disappeared during and after the storm, but he is back.

Love your new header...nothing like a blanket of snow to show off the lines of the architecture. We're socked in with fog and rain all day. Glad that Kind Charles IV returned looking for more pumpkins perhaps, and may have had to make do with bird seed!

It sure rained HARD through the night. We could hear everything on the roof sliding off and hitting the back deck/porch with a thud and a bang. My sister in Sarnia was reporting 12 degrees and no snow. Imagine that!!!!
Thanks for the answers Jenn. I like yr.no as I can save my favourites and see at a glance that on Thursday you will get to Zero, and an overnight low of -10 !!! Slow melt, it all makes sense, and I do hope the branches recover. We had a very unseasonal 4C this morning.

Highs in the 50sF here, but it feels cold to us lol I don't envy you your ice, but the bird photos you're getting are wonderful! We got a nuthatch at our peanut chip feeder this afternoon, and it's been a while since we last saw one.
I cannot find local Covid numbers any more. Very frustrating.
We just booked our new C-shots for tomorrow.
