As everyone knows, the news is terrible. The 'right fight' AKA not so peaceful protests, is taking a toll on many. "They don't want to be heard – they want to be obeyed," to quote our Prime Minister. I am deliberately avoiding news saturation. I support the civilians who are the victims here, and those all around the world.
I am trying to stick to my lane, celebrating life here in Lanark. Sometimes, you just have to acknowledge what is going on, without getting sucked into the vortex of hate, anger, rage farming, and finger pointing.
I've been looking to the skies, near and far. The US is busy watching over Gaza. We do not know what countries are doing behind the scenes, but I am sure our civil servants are doing what they can.
The local flight club has been out and about. Oct. 27th.
It has been gradually getting colder, as is the way of the season! It was double-digits on Tuesday, and I realized I have 8 little froggies on their own. I hope there is enough muck in the pond to protect them.

Hope the wee frogs bury themselves deep into the mud.
I am soooo with you about avoiding news saturation. And rage farming is the perfect term.
You are wise. Thank you. Aloha!
Good choice of focus for outside information coming into your psyche. (never wrote that word before, surprised that's the way it's spelled.) I did have good election news that I went looking for today. As you have compassion for the frogs, I extend mine to all those leaving this world, and wishes that their loved ones may find peace as they grieve. This is part of my everyday welcome to all the new beings coming into this world as well. That about covers it...those undergoing the big life changes. The rest of us have choices to make. And Ohio and Virginia voters make me proud.
If you don't wish to look at US news, what I'm talking about is the Ohio constitutional amendment to protect women's rights to abortion. And the Virginia legislative branches both becoming majorities of Democrats.
Our weather is warm to hot during the day, cool to cold in the evenings and night (late autumn).
We need rain, but no sign of it.
I get completely what you mean. It's so easy to get sucked up into it. All we can do is be good people -- we can't control the war.
It's certainly hard not to get sucked down that vortex!
Reason has left these groups who hate each other and fight about it by killing innocent people.
Your watching the flight patterns sounds like fun. They were being watched around K.C. when Taylor Swift's jet landed to attend a football game. Linda in Kansas
Oh no... Not Canada too.
I saw a comic recently about a fellow worried about our democracy being challenged by right-wingers. The other character was handing him a balloon and saying he should just take the balloon and float to Canada when it gets really bad.
Uh oh... I don't know if I hit the publish button after I wrote my comment.
I was just saying I saw a comic about a fellow saying he was worried about our democracy being threatened (by right-wingers). The other character was holding out a balloon and telling him to use it to float to Canada when it got bad.
The news is often discouraging.
