On our trip home from Brockville, we spotted this store open. We have driven by it for years. We tried to stop in several times, but we tended to travel on weekdays, and they were closed. It became a joke between us. An older couple ran it, and then it went up for sale. It's a fine, old building, and it was sad seeing it unloved.

It's on highway 29, in Addison, halfway between Brockville and Smiths Falls. it was sold by the couple to Gerald best, a contractor, but I guess there wasn't enough business in this farming community.
Calamity Jane's was sold in January, 2018, by Jim Hands. From an article: The 1850 two-storey limestone property was up for auction, under “Hot” Power of Sale, and sold under the hammer for $65,000. There were extensive renovations, bringing the spaces up to code, I imagine!
The woman we spoke to is leasing the former restaurant space for her Driftwood Tree business. She's been open a month. There are two apartments, one above, and one beside, which are also being rented. It's a happy new beginning for the old building.

...I like the limestone building, there are a number of them just south of the border too.
