Metcalfe fair October 2nd

We went to the fair Oct. 2nd, yesterday's post was all about the horses hubby loves to talk to. Today is the overview. The town was all dressed up for October. When I taught in rural Ontario, we'd often have kids take off the Friday to either participate in the fair, or help out parents in Richmond, Metcalfe, Osgoode. Sweet rural towns in southeastern Ontario.

The signage was excellent overall. Parking is always a problem!

This photo shows someone unable to read the signage. The car on the left was going into the out lane. Then, people were simply walking behind said car.  The car in front of it, trying to leave, ended up circling around, crossing in front of us. There is so much to pay attention to if one is driving. Somedays I fear for my life!

Lots of people, young and old.

I must admit that I wore my trusty sandals. There were lots of people from the city of Ottawa, I could tell by their clothes and footwear, i.e. suede boots!

The cows were about to go on!

Sheep in their coats!

Indoors, there were lots of prizes. This person is a 2nd cousin of hubby's. She does a nice job painting. The snowy owls were excellent.

Prizes for cursive writing! Then there were the lint monsters. Seriously!

Cabbage heads...

The flowers were, of course, lovely.

This little cutie dropped her jean jacket on the ground and ran off. Mummy was talking to someone!

This little guy was using his pedal power to drag around cement bricks!
Lying down on the job!

Of course, the petting zoo.

Produce... those are big ones! The pumpkin was 581 lbs.!!!!

Nice to see real fruit!

Lunch at The Swan and then home.

Never a dull moment in your region. Kudos to you and hubby for going to all those fairs and happenings! I like the display of the junior classes products. You've got a very good eye for photography. The photos with the couples (a young couple - she tall with a goat; the elderly couple - she plump, he tall with a hat) are very good captures.

Excellent photo tour Jennifer. I could almost hear the sheep bleating. Lint monsters? Maybe that's how the monster under the bed myth got started. Sounds like a fun time was had by all!

You wore your "Trusty sandals?" where are your cowboy boots. You always wear boots at an agricultural fair. I'm glad you still go to agricultural fairs.

It looks like a lot of people came out! I remember the fall fairs in the town nearest to where I grew up.
