More Autumn Glory

Autumn Poem
forest rambles enrich my soul
trees painted in Autumnal palettes
wind rains leaves on forest floors
trees sway
trying to escape its clutches
they give up their glory
carpeting forest floors in eye candy
gardens begin to fade
they shall rest

shaved fields ready for winter
wearing boring beige
geese gather in flocks
safety in numbers
nibble morsels of leftover corn
meagre fuel for journeys south
overhead they laud the season

turkeys trot through forests and grasses
seeking delicious bugs
deer flick their tails
embracing the last greens of the season
soon winter will come
warm blankets of white
trees and forests
wrapped in Mother Nature's love
preparing for the cold to come

First frost: 0 C. overnight

Remember my muskrat family? Their burrow remains, the pond has dried up in the drought, and they are long gone. (Guess who had six babies!) Maybe next year they will come back.

Our pair have got 6 kitts in the frog pond!!

Hauntingly lovely words. I would print them, with some pics at the side, and keep forever. 0C, and if that is where the thermometer hangs, maybe a little colder out in the open. We had 5C this morning, coolish here for October, so lit the fire again!!!

Oh good, you are still blogging. Nice to see your words and photos.
(I have yet to get a good photo of our turkeys. They are too quick on the wing for me to capture.)

Good to see you do some poetry again. It gives you a different way to describe things.
