Fort Hemlock Pub Smiths Falls

After our healthcare appointment, we stopped in Smiths Falls for dinner.

Fort Hemlock Pub, where we met the owner, Scott Prout, quite a keener, trying to capture photos of his heron. I'm so glad we can afford to eat out on our way home. I'd be too tired to cook. The staff are great, I grabbed a selfie of one of them. They manage hubby's food intolerances well.
The view, the birds, and the rushing water, are soothing.

Beautiful Heron, but the food, staff, and atmosphere are the best after a long drive, and best of all,no cooking when you do get home. Another cool morning here.

We always eat out, after my day long hospital stays. It's like my reward and I really enjoy it!! Awesome captures, the great blue is gorgeous!!

i love it when i get a bird in flight. you have to be very patient. i hear some eagles today ... but the trees were covering them from my view. wish i could control the wind. now that would be nice. ha. ha!! ( :

A wonderful place to eat! Love your bird photos as well! The in-flight shot is great, and the blue heron just stunning.

How nice to be able to combine lunch with shots of a Great Blue Heron! It looks like a good fishing spot. I sometimes see one in the distance but don't have my camera. I have some food intolerances, too, so I know how frustrating that can be.

Great heron shots and video. I've been up at the cabin with no Internet so am trying to get caught up now that I'm back in town for a few days. It's nice not to be distracted at home, but makes town visits quite hectic. - Margy

Such nice shots of the heron. I haven't seen ours in awhile. Maybe it will come back.

That looks like a fun place to have a meal and that heron is quite sleek and elegant.

What a nice place to stop for a bite! I agree, though I like to cook, there are definitely times s I'm too tired from whatever (not as good an excuse as you have) and I am glad we can afford to eat out and glad for places that are not pretentious -- where it doesn't have to be a "BIG deal" (dressup, spend a lot of money), just a comfortable place with decent food and service. And the birds and view you have with this place would make me love it to death!
