Who was that masked fly by?

A couple of days ago I posted a poor shot, a blurry bird feeder guest , yes a couple birders caught it, disguised as a mystery.

Well, here is the critter. It had just flown out of the bird feeder, AKA bucket.

The next day it landed on the railing, quite cooperatively. Unfortunately, it was imperfect focusing, but I am getting better despite graduated lenses, in lieu of bifocals! (Middle age rears its ugly head!)

It settled in to allow me to view it's lovely red head...

Then, off it went with a flash of amber tail feathers, snow trailing behind!

The picture of your little guy flying away is so precious! What a catch!

It's a beautiful woodpecker. I thought that blur was a bird.

Beautiful captures Jenn, especially that last one. Winter is such a gift for wildlife viewing.
