December Videos worth watching!

With the joy of the season, laughter is the best medicine. Everyone is cheerful in Muskoka these days, having dug out of the snow. Back to business, but first a laugh or two.

Here is a witty, non-exclusive, nondenominational Happy Holiday message.

And a silly story:
Pastafarianism's Holiday
Pastafarianism began as a spoof aimed at the Kansas Board of Education's decision to include the teaching of intelligent design. Incensed, Bobby Henderson created the parody religion, the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster (aka Pastafarianism). What started as a spoof quickly reached full-blown internet meme status. Some would argue it has attained religion status - as pirate-garbed evangelists preach the gospel of the Flying Spaghetti monster.

Remember these?

You tickle me--love and respect everyone's varied religion and culture, no matter how unfamiliar. However, nothing but angry ridicule for those who would teach intelligent design. Very nice. Consistency is a hobgoblin, after all.

Love the pictures.

I don't think it was 'angry ridicule', Katherine. I was quoting another blog post.

More has been done in the harm of organised religion. Those who mock are as susceptible to comedic opportunities. As I prefaced: "It is a silly story!" It is as silly as Festivus! And I provided the direct link to Wikipedia. Surely, you must know what teachers, like me, think of Wiki!

I think we have to examine our traditions, values and culture at every opportunity. Thanks for helping the discourse! It definitely builds up a readership, lending more voices to the conversation.
