ice heaves and cracks

Tripping around town has been hilarious. Many are piling snow where they can. Driving along highway #118, I spotted a fender across my lane. Dueling snow plows?! I hopped out and moved, after watching car after care in front of me swerve to avoid it. One nice oncoming truck flashed his high beams to let me know to be careful. I was prepared to stop, despite being passed by speeding motorists!

I visited the grocery store. What a picture!

Then, on to the LCBO. Anticipating guests, you see!

There is danger everywhere...travel is difficult for some.

The ice continues to shift and heave.

As the water level lowers, you can hear it moan, crack and break.

Glad I have no one interested in being farther out on the ice!

At least not too far out!

Cat walkies have begun.

Photo ops are plentiful!

I like the cat statue under the diving board! We call that doing the raccoon when our Suzie does it!

Hi Jenn, How are the lakes doing as for freeze up? Last year there was so much snow they never did freeze up well and I think this may be the case this year too. Love the kitty! Must be a mouse hiding under there!

Thw LCBO has the most crazy icicles! Wow, it sure is cold looking in your world. Love the pics kitties going for walkies.

I'll remember that, L & D, 'the raccoon'!
Sure you could, Yogi!!!
I think the freezing is going well, Lorac. Very smooth, except for the cracks!
Many have huge icicle, Rob. The warm temps during the snow storm meant lots of melt.

Thank you, Malcolm!
You should have seen me prone on the thin ice!
We eagerly anticipate son and girl friend for a couple of days.

That will be fun! Then they are off to Ottawa to see the rest of the family. We have a few responsibilities here. It will be lonely, but Skype is a handy tool!

Your header photo is amazing. You've really had a lot of snow, but I guess you are used to that each year.....still not fun and a lot of work! Stay safe and warm! Merry Christmas!

Hahaha I love this. It's amazing all the snow. We are new to Bracebridge, but LOVING it. I am trying to track down some snowshoes for us to try it. We have 2 dogs who would LOVE to get out there for that.
The snow storm beginning of December was intense! Amazing though. We slooooowly made our way to WalMart (almost next door to us) for some last minute supplies. I have never seen WalMart so spooky and quiet! LOL
Glad you found my blog. YAY MUSKOKA!!! :D
