Yes, life is short. My client passed away. We never have enough time with loved ones.
This is a glorious time of year, spring. Our long weekend was quite something, however. Our First Responders have to be prepared for anything: boats, cars, single vehicle access roads that lead to cottages.
It has been a busy weekend on the roads in rural areas. The traffic speeding by our home is quite something. When they transfer that mindset and attitude to boating, it is easy for things to go wrong.
"It's a horrible situation. There were still people in the water when first responders arrived," OPP spokesperson Bill Dickson said in a video update on X.
UPDATE: Oct. 30th it was announced that an arrest has been made. Matthew Splinter has been arrested for multiple charges, including death, alcohol, and bodily harm.

Sorry to hear about your client. In my experience, stupid drivers and driving is an international problem.
So sad, the poor families of the young people. Ugh.
People in such a hurry don't seem to realize that rushing around is a dangerous thing to do. They are not focused on what's going on now but on what they are headed towards. And then disaster happens 😢
It's a nightmare out there on weekends and holidays.
Our road was recently topped with a deep layer of very loose coarse gravel. We crawl with our little SUV. The ATVs and 4x4 trucks FLY. We expect to see a mishap any time as the weekend warriors head back to the lake
So many preventable deaths/injuries! It's sad when someone who is ill and dying finally lets go. It's certainly sadder to hear of young people, or older disdainful people, hurting themselves and others! Yes the first responders save so many lives. I have great compassion for them as they are faced with the horrors of what machines can do to human flesh.
Too many cars!
A moment of careless fun which ends in lifelong tragedy. And the holiday season and long weekends are rife with them.
All the accidents look bad, colliding with a moose sounds awful.
People should slow down! Take care, enjoy your day!
It's a good weekend to stay home.
This is all so very sad. We will be staying home but safe travels to all who are visiting families.
