The fox hunt

We were on our way to Burnt Lands, to take some photos. We were taking back roads to avoid Saturday traffic.
We came upon two cars stopped. Yelling out the window to her, "Everything OK?"
"Yes, just drive around me."
SIGH.

What we figured out was that they were having a fox hunt.
Crazy family members, following the horses and hounds.

This dog was totally out of control. The guy pulled around the corner, dog in the back of the pick-up truck, and the dog fell out of the truck onto the ground.

I spoke to a woman who said her daughter was riding with them and she was following them. She assured me they had used fox scent only, dragging a fake fox around a field.

Hello, i hope the dog and the fox were ok. I am not into any kind of hunting. I guess each person has their own idea of fun times. Thanks for linking up and sharing your post. Have a great day and week ahead!

So surprised. Never heard of fox hunting in Canada.

Personally, I am not impressed. We are lucky enough to have foxes on our property but no hunters. I doubt the the dogs would know the difference between a scented fox pelt and a real fox. Not sure the hunters would know the difference either.

Weird to be hauling a fake fox around. Still, I wouldn't see the point of hunting the real thing.

Haven't heard of any fox hunts anywhere near me, but your photos are interesting. Hope the fox got away! LOL

The only comment I have here is, "These guys are nuts!"

Ye gods, I had no idea this kind of thing was still going on. Guess I lead a sheltered life. (We just finished binge-watching Downton Abbey, which we missed when it was new. We talked about the fox hunting scenes and how glad we were they didn't do that so much any more.)

Even though it was a mock hunt, glad the sport has declined. And yet, I do appreciate how much fun it would be simply to be out with your mates on horseback. Did you hear any blasts from a hunting horn?
