It's not the first time we've seen David.
Our Lanark County musician, David Francey's album Late Edition, is nominated for Roots and Traditional Album (solo) of the year. I caught him playing in town last year. I saw him at a MERA fundraiser September, 2011. His faithful fan, and partner, Beth Girder in attendance. I asked her to sign his CD, too!
As hubby says, one of his best assets, aside from the music, are the self-deprecating stories that precede his songs! He loves his Beth, who is his biggest fan. During a CBC interview, he told the host that his transition from contractor to musicians arose from his wife 'shoving' him into musical performance and recording!
David Francey has been selling well and he's been getting wonderful coverage on CBC radio. His newest CD: Empty Train.
"In Ashcroft BC, great long ore trains run along the Thompson River, thundering down full and rattling and banging back up empty. The sound made by those empty trains was as hallow and lonesome as I've ever heard." - David Francey

That's good music. YAM xx
Great setting for a concert!
It sounds like good folk music. Good Luck to David Francey with his newest album!
The big crowd, gathered for a noble purpose behind the concert , is warming the heart. Your pictures of the audience are great!
I'll have to see if this guy shows up on CKUA
