Saturday's Critters

We are ready for Monarch butterflies. The milkweed is in bloom. It smells glorious, by the way.

I headed down to the frog pond, having doused myself in bug spray. The deer are scarce, as we've a ton of deerflies after them. Look at the poor doe's neck.

The bullfrog tadpoles are big. They live as tadpoles for two years.

The pond is alive with critters. I spotted a turtle in the middle of the pond.

We had what looked like a young coyote!

I caught him on three cameras! Two cameras by the house, Skunk peering into Fred's burrow, and down on the dock, inspecting Muskrat's work.

I enjoyed seeing the bears out and about. They haven't been by the house lately. Never in daylight. Down by the frogpond, Booboo bear! (I think!)

This looks like the older bear!

We're expecting thunderstorms, which will spoil the weekend for some. I've a grocery order to fetch, having ordered online. I should wash some floors, too. There is no end to the fun!

🕷Heard from a tick specialist: if you see a freckle with legs, it's a tick. Joseph Brian's Lyme Disease symptoms (headaches, chills and sweats) are lessening slowly.  This is a good sign.

Oh that poor doe...there's no relief for her! I just hope she doesn't itch after they bite! Loved 2 bears, and skunk today! No comment on coyote. A critter I can't find any love for. Good to see your acknowledgement of Native peoples on your land.

I had a tick on my wrist of all places! He could have found a softer place to burrow! lol It's neat to have a source of water for the variety of critters that live there!

I had the little doe and a coyote on my trail camera yesterday. No fawn to be seen yet.

I'm glad he's doing better!

I have to go to the park to see tadpoles, and I haven't seen bullfrog tadpoles in too long to remember. Cool!!! I'll look forward to your monarch photos. I don't see them any more either.

Love your visitors and am glad that JB is getting better.
Two years as a tadpole seems a long time.

Catching up with your recent blog posts I was sorry to read about JB's Lyme Disease, and hope the Doxycycline continues to help.

Many thanks for sharing your critters with us.

I can't believe this will be the last weekend of June, the year is flying by.

All the best Jan

I guess you don't go out walking at night as you wouldn't want to meet Boo Boo.

I'm glad JB's symptoms are easing. A freckle with legs says it all.
