That was a great day for chores! I dressed Frosty for November. He has a little vest, a big poppy, and a cute tartan.
In the late afternoon, it clouded over.
I know who I suspect... 🦝!
I finally remembered to bring the shovels up from the shed. I dragged the snowblower up from the shed and put it into the garage. We are ready.
Down at the frog pond, I noticed that the baffle is coming off of the one tree. It prevents raccoons from getting into the wood duck box. The second box I shifted to try and check it out. It fell off at the top, the top screw gave out. This is a job for another day. The wood ducks won't be back until spring to nest.
I got mail! Our Vancouver grandkids sent me some art and art puzzles. I managed to piece them together. I often send them a piece of my sketches and make them into a puzzle. Isn't that fun?
I still have to fix the third wood duck nest box. Maybe I should just replace it and move the one box. This is what it looked like in 2021. The other photo was this year, after the bears ripped it apart. [Momma Bear and Two Cubs]
We've a lot of juncos about. This one was released.
It was a good day to get outdoor chores done, if you dressed for it.

It sure is November! I have a little more outside work to do to wrap up and hope I can get it all done before the cold and wet really sets in. I love the photo with the junco.
You do keep yourself busy with chores.
Good sounding preps for the winter to come. Holding a junco is unusual, just wondered what the backstory was for that occasion.

There is something...settling (?)... about preparing for the shutting down of the year... YAM xx
I saw a bunch of Juncos yesterday and thought that it must be winter. Today I saw a bunch of Robins and wished it was spring.
Well, to be honest, Barb, Cinnamon brought it to the back door for me. It was unharmed and I released it. He's not a great hunter, but the junco are ground feeders. It's only the 2nd bird this year.
I am always impressed at your chores. Well done on releasing the junco too.
You don't need any help from the racoons.
You are very busy in this month. Beware of bears while working.
Enjoy November.
Naughty raccoons!
I always thought it was the squirrels who dug up bulbs. I was never sure though.
There's always plenty of chores ... you do keep busy.
Wishing you a happy month of November.
All the best Jan
I like Frosty's poppy. Oh, dear! The bulbs! :( I see baffles like that around here sometimes, for predators at nesting boxes. We saw our first junco the other day. It's exciting when the first one shows up :)
