It's holiday Monday in Canada. Happy Thanksgiving! The news is overwhelming, around the world. I just cringe. I am thankful for all we have.
We woke to the possibility of storms in Ontario. Yes, that came to fruition. Northern Ontario has snow. Thanksfully (new word, A/C, these typos can be creative), we only had rain. The blue is snow. The remnants of hurricane Philippe sent the storm into a counter clockwise direction. Then the part on the left is going south.
🐸 Now, I know this is a gray tree frog. They do change colour, just to fool amateurs. I encouraged it to get off the deck, and head for the foliage where it will seek shelter over winter. The temperatures are going down, and it is time to nestle. This morning it is 7 C., and I think that is the last we will see or hear of them for the winter.
🐍 I submitted both spider and snake sightings to iNaturalist. I had the snakes wrong, they are Northern Ribbon Snake (Thamnophis saurita ssp. septentrionalis), not 'eastern.'
I was given the correct species! It's a crap shoot some days!
🕷Marbled Orbweaver (Araneus marmoreus) AKA Charlie! She has decided she likes the corner and the little shelf the previous owners made for the tree frog.
I tried several times to photograph this spider. It could well be the same species. There are lots of cobwebs on the front deck. I went out at 6 a.m., to check on the rain situation. I figure I might as well let them eat, and once we get frost, and they seek shelter, I'll sweep all these cobwebs away at that time.

Warm Thanksgiving greetings from my heart to yours! Hope you both have a lovely day - the feltwork is delightful. YAM xx
Your felted art looks wonderful.. well done!
That is a lot of frogs.
It is chilly here this morning but we are resisting turning the furnace on.
I do like the 'pop of colour' photo.
Happy Thanksgiving!
I think you are brave to try felting. I really am attracted to the crafts but I would be stabbing myself so thanks for giving me examples to admire.
Happy Thanksgiving Jenn. We have so many blessings in this country to be grateful for.
I am sorry to read that your DiL had to let her fur baby go. It is so heart breaking.
Happy Thanksgiving.
I love your felted piece, and am sure that your DIL will too.
Happy Thanksgiving!
We never know whether or not we'll get snow here, but certainly never this early. We're expecting highs in the 80s later in the week.
I do enjoy your snakes -no matter what they're called ;)
I love your felted piece, Jenn. Very beautiful work and so happy and cheerful. I'm sure your daughter adored it -- and the timing couldn't be better. I know she's deeply sad these days. All the photos are terrific. It's cold here, too -- and rainy. Pretty awful weather. I'm very tired of wind!
Happy belated Thanksgiving. I do like your felted piece better than the kit drawing. Yours is more colorful and vibrant...and sends that love that goes beyond the death of a dear one, whether furr-baby or friend or relation. All your photos do speak of your surroundings...and are so different from mine, I get a real kick out of them!
Beautiful blog
Happy Thanksgiving!
lovely felted pieces and the Ribbon Snake is a beauty :)
