Cinnamon was happy to get warm on top of Percy's fish tank. We had snow Monday morning, it was chilly, damp and cold.
I had to get dressed and put out the garbage Monday morning in the snow.
🎃 Having spent many years in education, and having had 3 kids, I've done my time doing Hallowe'en. Being rural, we don't have any little kids around us, anyway. Frosty's Great Pumpkin costume is worn out and faded, but I have photos!
I live vicariously through the kids. Caitlin created a fabulous costume! You have to know Ottawa to understand it. They replaced the Percy St. bridge, and highway #417 was closed for days. It crosses the city and people had to detour.
Pumpkin carving was on tap on the weekend. They put down newspapers to protect the new kitchen! I have to harvest some pumpkins seeds. Maybe when it warms up. It is -4 C. this morning.
I created a Hallowe'en puzzle. You can visit it here.

...I know that snow will be coming our way, but we haven't had a freeze yet. You have great decorations.
Snow! Happy Halloween!
There was a pretty hard frost last night.
Happy Halloween to you.
I would love to see first snow...though not to take the trash out as it came down! Alice in Wonderland is well served! Love the little construction gear on the bridge costume, and the ketchup bottle! I think getting in costumes is a wonderful thing to do! Happy Halloween and Samhain to you all!
Love the costumes! Especially the hot sauce bottle! The Percy Street Bridge costume was quite ambitious. ❤️🎃❤️
Snow! Yuck! My birdbath had ice on the surface of the water this morning but no snow here yet.
Love all the costumes.

Fun puzzle! Brrrrrrrrrrrr..... snow.... YAM xx
Great decorations! Happy Halloween!
Your kids and their children are all very creative.
As we lurch into summer your snow is a bit of a shock. Happy Halloween.
So cute! Can I post your Halloween pictures on the Instagram of Canada's Local Gardener?Happy Halloween!
So nice to see your family enjoying themselves. That's a very clever costume from Caitlin, and cute ones from everyone else. I recognized the Sriracha bottle. We are big fans here and have waited for months to get them back in the stores. Cute to see Frosty's Great Pumpkin costume too and Cinnamon and Percy looking cozy. I heard you had snow up there. Thanks for the puzzle, I enjoyed doing it. The candy seekers have not knocked on our door yet and I don't think we will get too many. The kids are growing up in the neighborhood. Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween to you, too.
I have located you .. we had the same snow. And I am rolling about with mirth and admiration of the structural replica of the bridge replacement. We have family in Ottawa; we heard lots about that!
No little goblins tonight, alas. Sometimes the neighbours' kids get here; most often they go to Lanark and do not. I do have a marvellous photo of a friend's one year old done up as a dragon. He is walking, in spite of the costume, and the resultant video is a real treat.
Jenn - thanks so much for visiting my blog! I have been gone so long, I thought everyone would have forgotten me. We have had snow here in Montana, too, and very cold temps. I don't mind - it gives me time to write a blog post! Love the costumes, especially the Alice in Wonderland grouping!
Sorry, no, @Caroline. They are my kids' photos.
Our Halloween observance centers around eating chili and candy and watching horror movies. Even though we're in the city we've never gotten a trick or treater here. We do have costumes from years ago, and sometimes we wear them here lol bot not this year.
Cat atop a fish tank. Priceless. Totally cracks me up! Loved all the decorations, too!
I rarely pass beneath that bridge, but heard all sorts of complaints the weekend they did it. I don't know why- the way they build a bridge close by and move it into place over a weekend shows ingenuity.
