Here we are again! What a strange week for temperatures. The tree frogs have begun singing from the trees, again. Soon they will nestle into the leaves. Friday it was 21 C. but tonight it is going down to 2 C.

Can you see it? It was tricky. I think it is the yellow-bellied.yellow bellied sapsucker from Jennifer Jilks on Vimeo.
They were around a lot in spring, when you could hear them banging on the metal tower. I have a ton of photos of them: Dratted Red Squirrels (DRS)!Last week I had about 50 trailcam clips of DRS. They are busy preparing for winter. It was just bad camera placement, except it is on a path the critter use frequently. I put together some clips of it burying food for winter. Cleverly, I turned the camera around to see if I could find some other critters.
It found the camera!

It's like you've found the critters' bathroom! Loved the sapsucker...hard to hold a camera still for that distance! But he was playing hide and seek anyway. Such fun that each critter walks along the same area, must smell the ones that just went by, and then their own scent will be lingering for the next one!
Hello Jenn,
A wonderful variety of critters, my favorites are the deer and the cute frogs.
Love the Sapsucker photo. Thank you for linking up and sharing your critter post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment!
Seeing a frog in the grass is so much fun! I love when they seem to think they are hiding, though who knows how their little minds work?

If it ever stops raining I'm going to move one of my cameras further into the bush. The one out front along the tree line is only catching dog walkers and vehicles driving up to the hunt camp. I don't know where these moose and deer are that my neighbour claims are leaving tracks at the head of my lane.
The tempurature is already starting to drop here in the Ottawa Valley, and it's not even noon!
I bet those frogs are not croaking in those colder temps! I too posted some trail cam pictures this week. We also have those DRS's. Destructive little creatures should they get into someplace they are not supposed to be. Did you know that adult fishers have been seen taking down newborn deer? I knew they were carnivores but no that vicious!
The deer are active in my area. On the way to the gym a pair crossed the road. On the way home a singleton did the same thing.
The drs is so cute!
As I type it is 2C here. We are going up to 26C though. Our weather is very changeable too at the moment.
Love your critters.
Surprising the stuff that goes though your yard.
The weather's ups and downs and the playful wildlife interactions are a joy to witness.
Those squirrels are so darn cute. Nice snaps.
Take care.
Sweet photos Jenn. I would freeze to death in those temps. Aloha!
You have some beautiful color in the trees now. We saw a yellow bellied sapsucker this week too. The name always makes me smile! Like it's what you call someone that's 'low down, no good'! heehee! Hugs!
That is a beautiful photo of the squirrel.
We have gray squirrels instead of red here. We call the tree rats, but whatcha gonna do *sigh*
I love that frog photo.
these photos might be some of my all-time favorites of yours. I especially love the close-up of the squirrel -- and the black cat and squirrel, too. I'm guessing it's a statue but it looks terrific!
But squirrels are so cute!
