Saturday's Critters

Thanks to Eileen for faithfully gathering us together to celebrate our critters! Saturday's Critters # 483

Butch is awake. They don't hibernate, but sleep through the coldest of days. It is a wise thing to do!

We haven't had turkeys for most of the winter. Then we had one, alone. Now we have a group of 6 hanging about.

They really are interesting birds.

It is awful out there. The snow is soft and horrid to navigate.
I used the Ken Burns effect to zero in on them.

♩♪♫♬ What does the fox say? Actually, it was quick and sprightly, to quote my grandie! They are usually quiet around here!

We seldom see the fox. Like the coyotes, they travel out of sight in the day, and only pass through near the house at night. Mar. 26, 2018, we were driving home from Narrows Lock, and I saw it at the side of the road. If you look closely, or click on it, you can see the tail end of a rodent hanging out of its mouth.

Nothing spectacular, but it is nice to see them. They disappear, for the most part, in summer, except for Clover who likes my hostas.

Finally, there are the critters in the crow's nest white pine tree!

Hello,
Love the deer, turkeys and fox. What is that climbing in the tree, I can't tell. Great videos and critters. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a happy weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.

I enjoyed the turkeys! We see them frequently on our mountain roads. They're pretty darn smart to stay away from cars and people.

I agree with you...how nice to have the critter linky party every week. I look forward to seeing what everyone has seen. I would love to see a fox around here. Happy weekend!

I always enjoy the critters that pass through your yard. It reminds me of our yard when we lived in the country with acres and acres of town land behind. We see coyotes and bobcats in the development here in FL -- because their habitat is rapidly being completely given over to housing developments and planned "communities."

Someone just posted a video of FIVE deer trotting up the main street in Petawawa midmorning! I'll share it on my FB page.
We rarely see a fox, occasionally on the trail camera, but we sure know they are around. Lots of squirrels and small rodents for them to feast on.
My aunt has dozens of turkeys swarming under her bird feeders. The only thing we can think of keeping them out of our yard is the dog.

Nice tour of the critters around your place. I think that there are many more foxes than we think. They stay under cover through the day.

I can't get over your humongous turkeys just roaming around.
