Yep, winter

Indoors, sometimes, there are signs of détente. That said, Daisy spent the night in her crate after an incident. Her new meds this morning, I just shoved the pill into her mouth.

It's not winter yet, according to the calendar, but we've had an unusual November. More typical are ups and downs until we settle into a pattern. This, they say, is a polar vortex.

Look at the next few days... it's gonna melt, I betcha!

Usually we're around 0 to 5+ C. and worry about freezing rain, and the like. November is when I gather kindling from the forest. I left it too late.

The females sat around, keeping tucked into the snow.
This is one of our young bucks.

They are frequent visitors.

Remember the scrape, where our buck is marking territory? He moved it. And he didn't scrape down to the ground. I wonder what this means for rutting season. Here are a series to show you the pathway. Everyone uses it, starting with the coyote. It's a transition zone from the forest to the wetland.

Another record-breaking cold today, but at least I now have my snows on.

By Saturday that forecast will probably be completely different!

The deer are always aware of you when you're photographing.

Love to see the deer!
The only thing that keeps our cats from having 'loud discussions' is that one sleeps all day and is up at night, and the other is awake during the day and sleeping at night.
