OK, BLUE JAYS, LET'S. PLAY. BALL!

When Mom and Dad were managing their health issues, they found much solace in going upstairs, taking out their hearing aids and watching the Blue Jays play baseball from their bed.

One time we were visiting Mom and Dad, who had gone upstairs at their usual 8:00 p.m. bedtime. (Dad got up at 5:30 to put on the fire every day.) Mom went with him. We settled down, downstairs, in front of the TV on the couch. Unfamiliar with a satellite TV clicker, we were looking for something to watch.

I'm crowing!
Mom suddenly stormed into the room, furious. We had inadvertently clicked off their Blue Jays game, not knowing they were still awake. They had two TVs, which could only show one channel at a time through their satellite in cottage country. Boy were we in the dog house!

I don't want to crow, but they would have been so happy with the performance of the Jays!

During hockey season it was the Maple Leafs. As a child, I remember Dad tromping upstairs Saturday nights after the game, not so happy that they'd lost, again. Overpaid, spoiled, rich boys who cottaged and golfed in Muskoka with their easily won fortunes. Just sayin'!

Here are some blue jays I've photographed.

I love my blue jays in my garden, too. Some great shots of them "playing" in your area. Happy Critter Day!

Love the one with its wings wide open. All are terrific jay images. We don't get them this far south, so this was a special treat for me.

Gorgeous captures of the jays! The blue colour is very pretty. Our jays are brownish.
