Westport Antique Show

Flapping bee
I know many of my readers enjoy beautiful pieces. We took a day trip to this show, as we know we will find some interesting articles, with vendors who are quite eager to discuss the provenance of their finds!
The most interesting was the piece from the Joey Smallwood Estate, NL, Purchased from Manitoba Liberal Party. A bronze bison. Then, there was the quirky bee that, when pugged in, lights up and flaps its wings on top of a tulip!
Napoleon's 4 generals
Leclerc, Bertrand, Lafyette, Exelmans

And, on the way home, a tree decorated with turkey vultures!

I'm not much of a shopper when it comes to malls, but this is my cup of tea. Love antiques!

So much fun to browse...although I really know very little about antiques.

Am a bit of an antiques and bric-a-brac browser myself; that bison would certainly have called me, but the price you mentioned earlier a definite antidote to rash buying! YAM xx

I used to have one of those copper kettles, but I had the worst time keeping it shiny. What wonderful things you got to see.

I don't need an antique show - a good flea market can hold my attention for a long time! I love seeing old stuff, and wondering about its history!!

Amazing, I have a copper kettle exactly like the one in the picture above, except mine is not polished bright. I like the natural colour. I got several old copper pieces from my Mom and it sits on the corner of my hearth. - Margy
