Cappuccino, Bear Cave Road, Rosseau

Another road trip, still can't find any moose. We're going to have to visit Nancy in Bondi. They know how to find moose, wolves, deer, bears. Sheesh!

We drove along Dee Bank Road. What a delightful little river. This is spring, where rivers flow, and the creeks are joyful musicals, dancing over rocks.


What we did find was lunch. In Rosseau. And CAPPUNCCINO Someone ELSE took that last piece of key lime pie, not me!






Our goal: Bear Cave Road, along Nipissing Road, east of Rosseau.


And a heckuva road it was. I could only imagine pioneers in the good old days.

The melted snow (not all of it was melted!) runs in the ditches, and the sandy road is soggy in many parts. We drove to a clearing and found a delightful little church.

What a remote location. I cannot imagine the pioneers who cleared the tough land, the cold November winds.

As ever, I like to visit schools, this one has long gone, but the church remains, with a sweet article about the tough pioneer woman who was the school teacher.

Sadly, along the way we spotted a memorial. I did some research, and found a reference. Another testament to driving at 5 a.m., without a helmet, on a December night.

Dec. 10, 2006. Old Nipissing Road, 5 a.m., Darrell Ronald Ainsbury ran into the tree when he failed to navigate a sharp curve while driving a snowmobile. He wasn't wearing a helmet.

Along the road the only wildlife we spotted was a grouse, and she was hard to spot!

 A beautiful Muskoka day on a beautiful drive. Buds, birds and bees bursting forth. Marches filled with water, water fowl, and the teaming with unseen life.
