Mushrooms, nesting boxes, walkies

My post is a bit late. I woke in the week hours, finally went back to sleep, then had a dream about buying an old house and property in Quebec, where COVID is rampant. Their schools started two weeks ago. Crikey!

As I have written, I am happy with the change in seasons.  The fungus continue to delight. (Small things, right?)

The next day, this one was gone.

This little one I photographed last Friday. It grew! The first photo was, as I said, Friday. The second one was Monday.

Pinks!

I went to check out the wood duck nesting box. The ducks are long gone, and critters often take advantage of it! [ Frog pond tails: mice! Dec., 2014;  (Red squirrel usurps wood duck nesting box, Nov. 2017)] I shall still have to check them in spring!

It had guests...

The door tips up, and the clever 2nd mouse leapt onto the top of the door. I couldn't figure out where it went, at first.

One box I haven't totally cleaned out. I must remember...

Nutmeg and Cinnamon were along for the ride. Nutmeg was below, Cinnamon up in the tree.

Back at the house, a little red-eyed vireo was giving Nutmeg the gears. It ignored me, yelling at Meggie. She ignored it, too.

Little things are my favorites ~ Great photos of your wonderful area ~ ^_^

We had the biggest, fattest raccoon on the deck last night ~ turned on the light to let my newly adopted yorkie out and there it was on top of the gate to the deck ~ fortunately, it quickly left ~ ~ Never had one before ~ may have to take down the bird feeders ~ Yikes!

Lovely homes for the mice, and the fungi, a great variety of shapes and colours, they decorate the forest floor so well. Stay where you are, dreams might be tempting but not while the Covid is so rampant.

The little mouse is rather cute. As long as they stay outdoors.
