Richmond Fair – the horses

Here were are: Richmond Fair, Sept. 14th - 17th. Richmond has a long farming and 4-H history. The town will be 200 years old. For Canada, this is a long history.

While the food booths and rides weren't open, we were there to see the horses.

These two insisted on a better photo than my walk-by shooting!

At 10 a.m., some were just getting set up! Sadly, there were long line-ups of families waiting to buy tickets for the rides. Only one booth was open. Most of the rides had not started up yet. Someone, misread the eagerness. I passed two pairs of people, ready to set up the other two tickets booths.

This is a favourite spot: the food. I had some bacon on a bun for brekkie. Hubby wanted to get there in time for me to get back for the Bear Wise Seminar in Perth.

I like beaver tails. Sadly, there are far too many calories. Ontario requires restaurants to post calories.

Sadly, cultural appropriation of Dream Catchers.

The parking was busy, by the time we left.

Oh yes we loves the hosses, don't we now? Yes we do!!! it's ages since I got to an ag-show of any shape or size; must endeavour to correct that within the next twelve months! YAM xx

Kudos to Ontario for demanding eateries to post calories. Whether we like it or not, we're 'slaves' to calories if we wish to maintain normal weight or even get slim.

Lovely horses, I also like the hay bale figure. You see a lot of those in Germany, very few in the UK

It's been a long while since I've been in Richmond. Even longer since I was at one of these fall fairs.

Wonderful day! Remember when appropriation was an homage? When the fact that we all share our food and fashion was a GOOD thing?!

I love going to fairs. Oh, the incredible fair food. I can taste the hand dipped ice cream bars rolled in nuts. The caramel covered apples. The funnel cakes covered with powdered sugar. The tiny doughnuts. I could eat my way from one gate to the other. Oh, and horses. Love the cow barns and horse shows. What fun. - Margy

Fancy manes, shiny tails, glossy coats, small and large, the horses make the show!!! Thanks for sharing, that was so worth the drive.
