Tall Ships Brockville 2016

It was a spur-of-the-moment trip. We've been to Brockville many times, but on an amazing day, one of the last beautiful summer-like days, we thought we'd visit the tall ships. It is lovely being by the water. There was much going on, even though this was Friday, and the big events took place on Saturday/Sunday.

This is an amazing memorial, dedicated to women who have experienced violence. The inscription reads:
“This is dedicated to all the women and girls for whom violence is a daily reality, for those who have died at the hands of violence, and to all the women and men who work to end it”

We were walking on Blockhouse Island.

Happy to leave the hustle and bustle of the city, the buildings are beautiful in this old city. These are drive-by shootings as hubby gritted his teeth and navigated our way out of town!

We were at the last tall ships event in Brockville. I wanted to go back this time but it wasn't in the cards. Brockville is indeed a lovely old city with it's grand historical buildings.

They have a tall ship here in Bellingham called the Zodiac. It's been restored beautifully and you can volunteer to crew on her during summer excursions. - Margy

One serious man with a camera on a tall tripod, looking like he was waiting for an exciting event? Beautiful scenes, peaceful and the perfect place for a drive, tall stately buildings, and lovely ones on the way home.

Thanks for bringing us along to beautiful old Brockville. I could almost hear the seagulls and tall ship hardware clinking on the masts.
