February: outside stripping, and trailcam: Snowshoe hare, Red-tailed fox!

You'll forgive a second post (or not)! The first day of February was quite amazing.  Bright sunshine, and a balmy temperature. It's quite unnatural, but I took advantage of it.

What an amazing start to the month. Feb. 1st I was outside stripping my new chest of drawers! My northern provincial friends are amazed! I just did the top, as I wanted the job done as I knew I only had one good day to do it.

By the afternoon, the sun was gone. I went down to fetch Trailcam photos (see below). Lots of green moss. Then over to the frog pond, which would make a great skating rink.  I should raise the dock a tad, as the water is rising.

Double Pickle Stabber has been visiting the wetland camera, as well as the manger. This is the best fox photo, it's quite quick running past the trailcam! You'll notice that over a few days the wetland ice has gone quite wet! Glad I moved the camera in off of the wetland. I could get a good soaker fetching it. Finally, too, the Snowshoe hare.

Sadly, Daisy brought in a tick, as well. THAT I could do without...

Didn't know the ticks would be out and about at this time of year. Must of dropped off a warm host. Yesterday was amazingly warm -- more like a Vancouver day.

Glad you are getting some warmer temperatures but I guess the tick took advantage. Enjoyed your photos, the cam picked up some cool critters.

This milder weather has meant an increase in bugs at this time of year when usually they would all be hibernating or visiting someplace warmer. Who would think you could be working outside at the beginning of February.

That's amazing to be working outside at a finishing job. You have lots of good trail cam shots.

I do wonder what the animals make of the cameras!

The trail cam must be fun to have. I am always wondering what goes on outside here after dark. My cat can see things out there that I can't and I'm kind of jealous!
