the world continues to turn

and a new baby is born.
This little sweetie was born Friday, May 7th, at 7:45 a.m. at home. Attended by two midwives, and a student midwife, with hubby beside, all is well with the world.

Her little sister, Josephine —2 years old, was cared for by her paternal grandmother during the day, and was brought home to meet her wee new 8.5 lb. sibling. She took the wee hand in hers and said, 'Happy to meet you!'

PaPa showed Josephine how to put her little finger in new sister's fist, and 'Isabelle Joan' held on tight —a sign that big sister will lead her through this complex world.

I spent Mother's Day morning caring for Isabelle while her parent's slept. They were up at 3 a.m., and I took over from 5 - 7:00. What a joyful way to spend the morning, rather than mourning. For both my mother and my husband's mother passed over on Mother's Day weekends (2006 and 2002). What a gift this w/e has been!

Josephine is happy to watch her many video with gramma, while baby sleeps.

Oh Jen (Grandma) -- what a wonderful Mother's Day. And both the girls are absolutely adorable. Congratulations to all. Thank you for sharing your joy.
