Kitten juggling

Sady (2005 - 2015)
Our new kittens look so much like Sady!
 Everyone loves the couch!

I popped into the vet to get some more kitten food. They are hungry critters. The technician told me that the woman who found them said she found them curled up together at the side of the road. She put them in the back of her car, and they curled up together, again. I am so happy with them. We are having fun.

They like the office, too. That's another quilt of my gramma's, on the rocker, where I used to breastfeed my children. My kids are 34, 36 and 40 years old this year!

We had a bit of an incident. I was in bed reading. Annabelle came over for a mush on the bed. She sort of nibbled my hand, which was unusual. She moved to the end of the bed.As they have been doing, the kittens were climbing the mirror in the corner of our bedroom. The wicker is quite compelling, they tell me.

Cinnamon was watching, cheering his sister on, or up. Nutmeg went flying up the mirror, Annie leapt off the bed and went after her. I was worried, but Nutmeg went back to playing. Annabelle took off. I talked to JB about it, and he suggested that Annie thought they were fighting. She loathes fighting and always interferes. She is so gentle, and really could care less about the kittens being here. The last time we took Sady to the vet, she had cancer, Sady fought us. Annabelle came rushing over.

Next morning, we were in the kitchen, waiting for breakfast, and Annabelle head butted Nutmeg. As if Nutmeg would give her food! They are getting to trust Annabelle, the big girl.

They seemed to want more food. First, Cinnamon held his own. Then Nutmeg took over. Annabelle tried to stare her down. She failed. Nutmeg wouldn't budge.
(Do you like the magnetic scrabble letters on the fridge? The grandies love to rearrange them.)

I put on our December tablecloth. Nutmeg approves. sigh.

So far, the creche figures are OK. Penguin guards them.

They like their old bedroom window, where they watch the birds. I moved the litter box out of the room, Annabelle was using it. I set it at the top of the stairs for one day. Then moved it to the foot of the stairs. Then, I moved it to where the other little boxes sit. No accidents. All is good.

Meantime, Nutmeg gets right into my plant, again!

It might be a long winter!

Well, things are easing up here. Our colds are running their course. It's a long, slow process, though, with some setbacks. We're really taking it easy. Any exercise, and my lungs fill up. We've booked off sick next week, too. Hooray for sports and TV movies. Oh, and Angry Birds! My competitors are quite busy these days doing other things. I actually won a game!

I love data. I'm most often 2nd place.

I have to do groceries, but not on the weekend. I have to send some parcels, as well. Monday morning I'll get going. Maybe.

Trailcam Tales

This trailcam has begun to have issues. The button you push to open the battery holder is rusty. Seriously.

I've switched it from video to still photos.

Watch as she gets closer!

The better trailcam captured a doe walking by, closely followed by our buck. I think he is waiting for her to get into heat. Rutting season isn't over, yet! They are in heat for only 24 hours.

Road trip

I went to the auction house, again. It was Thursday, and I left at 3 p.m. I can't tell you what I bought, but three similar things for our three girls (Caitlin, Josephine –who turns 12 on Monday, and Isabelle). They were open from 4 - 6 p.m. for pick up.

It was a lovely drive, with lots of homes decorated for Christmas, and others that just look interesting.

I picked up a double order of fish and chips and ceasar salad for dinner. It lasted us two days. Yippee!
It's been cold, and getting colder then warmer. Weird weather patterns.

I'm wondering if I should clean off the driveway. There is some snow on the way. It's all going to melt, though. Sigh. I might just save my energy.

Kitten vet visit

They are quite the pair. The vets estimate they were born June 30, 2019.

Nutmeg's been playing in my plant. There was dirt and debris on the floor under the plant, behind the couch.

I put some dowels in the pot. It may have to go out. I've hung onto it for two years, putting it out in summer. I found her sitting in the plant, behind my little fence.

I took the kittens in for their shots. Kittens have two sets.

We made it into the examination room. They were quite comfortable. They lived here for a couple of weeks. They stayed over when we visited Ottawa for JB's birthday, as well.

So relaxed, they are grooming while listening to noise behind the door.

I was worried that they were hanging out near the door to the inner sanctum. I thought the vet would come in and knock them arse over teakettle. They'd be so upset. The vet, I mean. I put my booted foot beside the door, as they seemed to want to groom here. Poor Dr. Sara was so upset. She just bonked my foot. We had a good laugh. She's seen us through lots of cat issues.

Cinnamon, the male, sniffed every smell he could find. That deep sniffing, with his mouth open.

I love our Dr. Sara. She cut their nails, took their temperature (thermometer in the butt!), cleaned out their ears again (heaven knows where they were dumped in the country), and they were weighed.  Nutmeg is 5 lbs. 11 oz, Cinnamon is 7 lbs. 7. They had two needles to get them up to snuff. Then they had defleaing meds on them. We were good to go! Annabelle has to go in this month. It'll be fun seeing her weight. She LOVES that kitten food!

Meantime, on the trailcam. Two bucks were hanging out.

Paint Party Friday, Book library, Physio

The winter can be long if you don't embrace it, or if you are sick.

PPF

Reading

I donated two and took two. This little library is outside our municipal office. Maria Muller, and

Physiotherapy

There is a cool poster right behind the laser equipment. My bursitis has been giving me some hip pain.

Christmas TV Movies

This was a hoot. It sums it up, but I'm happy to sit and watch up here while JB watches football or curling downstairs! They are much more diverse casting, and women with positions of power, but the Canadian filming locations are fun to try to spot.
It looks like another day of this. Snow for much of the day.

Deer and friends

It's lovely seeing the deer out the front window. They know to check out the feeders.

I went down for the mail, and spotted an empty beer can, thrown from a vehicle window. This drinking and driving is horrid.

I was down at Rideau Ferry, gassing up the car. When I pulled up to the pump, there was a man pumping gas, with a beer can in his hand. (It's self-serve!) He was chatting with the guy gassing the car on the right. It turns out, he knew the people in the car on the left, and then he and the other dude went in to the store. He must have been filling the other car for them.

THis trailcam video is a bit of a puzzle. I'm thinking mice friends on Oliver's Lot. The shiny eyes in the field are quite mysterious. I think mice...

Our Jake is still hanging about.
