Air, land, and sea

Sharks are among us. Well, in the oceans! This is Jekyll, who has travelled a distance. OCEARCH promotes 'facts over fears.' Jekyll's tracker shows him up in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, all the way from Florida. It truly is fascinating!

Anyway, back to the land! On the back railing, amongst the hops vine leaves.

The coyote made a brief appearance. Or maybe it was two of them?! The other camera didn't pick up anything. It did shine its light.

I never know what we'll see with Fred. I am hoping to see 3 - 5 kits.

Jul 16 at the back deck. Fred is nesting under said deck. Sometime that night, the trailcam was knocked over onto the ground!

I was watching from the upper deck.

And in the air

This is the last, I hope, of the robins. It is their second brood in the same spot.

They've sent 6 out into the world. The hawk was after them, but was chased away.

Sitting bird watching, the baby robins had just fledged, and the hawk came by. First it landed in the pine tree, then moved away onto the elm tree. The robins chased it away. It was tricky filming in the bright sunshine. It is tough seeing what is in the viewfinder.

The durn thing came back in a couple of hours.

Saturday's Critters

First of all, Fred! I cannot tell if they are lactating. I need them to stand up and face my direction! I sit on the back deck watching!

The baby robins are growing. And sleeping!

The phoebes are still in the nest, eating like mad, judging by the poopies on the deck. I washed it all off with the hose, loosened up after our rainstorm. Phoebe quite likes the trailcam and uses it as a perch! I have several videos of this blurry image, which I deleted after taking a screenshot for posterity.

That was a storm on Thursday.

I read about this website. It is called OCEARCH and they track marine mammals. It is fascinating!
