Day by day, we are recovering. Thankfully. I seem to be coughing about 4 hours into sleep. I use the puffer and get another 4 hours.
The lawn was getting rather frowsy. I did the back yard with the lawn tractor. We were expecting Tropical Storm Betty, and I thought I'd give it a go. There isn't any effort involved, so my lungs didn't suffer greatly. It was pretty shaggy.
August is an interesting season. The vine is making its way up the house. Oct. 20, 2021, vs. August, 2024. I think it is a Hydrangea Vine. Vines are not good for bricks and mortar. (It gets into the mortar and erodes it.) Cedar planks? Dunno.
I've been looking in my files, trying to see if I actually had a photo of a Wood Pewee, since Merlin told me we had one. They've nested and babies have fledge. No more lovely songs. This popped up in a sparrow search! (AI, indeed!) May 24, 2019, at 8 a.m.

Even four hours sleep is a good thing! I've decided not to pay attention to the amount of time I'm involved in things...since I spend a big chunk sleeping. It's always a good feeling to wake up rested! Then there can be lots of little activities, like checking blogs, emails, drinking coffee, looking out windows...etc. All are good things in life. Feeling the gratitude, I guess. Sorry about the damages Debby caused though. And many wars tearing other people's lives apart. So gratitude is mixed with compassion.

Frowsy is a great word that I have maybe heard once or twice, but it isn't part of my vocabulary. Maybe it will be now.
I've never seen a peewee but that photo is awfully cute. I'm glad you're slowly improving!

I've never heard of a hydrangea vine. It's pretty, but yes I know how bad vines are for brick. What a shame. I was pleased to get enough flowers to not need to keep up with the feeder.
Frowsy, I actually had to look that word up, " Scruffy and neglected" what else with that Covid taking over day and night!!! Flooding in one area, fires in another, I hope ,for those who lived in Jasper, they will find the resilience to continue their lives with love and strength together.
It's going to be while before the jasper people get back. Fires are still raging. I'll exchange some smoke for some of your rain.
