It is a sweet spot: I'd love to know how the corridor came about. Maybe a path was trod and, of course, the tree branches are acidic, and other saplings didn't survive beneath and around them. Ain't nature grand? We had a big snow storm, and all of this is now under 10 cm of snow cover. I thought I'd post these before any more snow photos!
I love this cedar corridor. I put the oldest trailcam here. You may be able to spot it in the second photo, on the right-hand tree. It's a pretty lane. It's high traffic for critters.
A good amount of mute, and near to that, pinecone remnants, in a nice pile. Obviously, Owl was on the watch for a rodent of some sort!
Actual blue sky!
Now for the reds! Indoors, we depend upon our plants for colour. Joseph Brian brought home some tulips.
🥀 The Amaryllis bloom I broke off is doing well in a mug of water. I will have a total of 6 blooms from this one plant. It is heartwarming.
I finally got my butt in gear and made up a one-pan meal. Pork chops, red and yellow peppers, a Spanish onion, rice, broth and spices. I made banana bread, as well. Susie Homemaker, last week.
Our old toaster was a bit of a disaster. I sent hubby in for another. I thought red to go with our designer (2nd hand) curtains by Caitlin! At first I wondered, as there wasn't a 🥯 bagel button like our old toaster, but it works well for my morning bagel.
Politics – 'lightning from the sky'
I have comforting words for my US blog friends. The crazies are here, as well. You aren't alone.
Our opposition leader (PP) is a whackadoodle, having supported the Convoy people. After this speech was posted (below, left), we've heard nothing more from him. He is MIA, while his cronies diss our Prime Minister for taking his family to a friend's place in Jamaica.

Oh those tulips that JB brought home are goregous, certainly help with all the dull days we have been having. My two current fur babies are so fascinated by plants/flowers that I cannot have any & while imitation ones are good, they aren't the real thing. :(
I like all your pops of red & how jazzy is that new red toaster. I see red when I think of our only choices for leader ... I'll say no more.
Love the tulips and amaryllis! Beautiful blue sky!
Take care, have a great week!
I have never been able to figure out the function of the bagel button on the toaster. Seems to toast equally well whether I push it or not.
I love the name "Cedar Corridor." It looks beautiful. I'm sorry you have the crazies, too. Rick and I often talk about skipping across the border if the worst happens next November and I suspect it's better.... but not much! (They wouldn't let us stay more than six months anyway... but it's tempting.)

Thanks for the colour and the 'before' shots... now for true winter! YAM xx
Oh goodie, another red appliance in your kitchen too! Well, mine (red) and Vicki Lane's microwaves were kind of a match, and now a toaster in the mix! So sorry to hear you also have crazies in politics. My youngest (44) is running for city council in his small town this year. Oh dear, I must have taught him some of my idealism back when he was very young!
I like wearing red, but for the past few years red tees and even long sleeves have not been as easy to find, and my old stuff is getting . . . um . . . old.
I imagine a two track lane where horse and buggies just to go to and fro through the cedars.
As a child, I used to poke around those pellets with a stick to see what the owls had been eating.
I heard the term "January 6 hostages" for the 1st time this morning and watched that prison choir video. I swear! I worry about what the future will bring. I saw an article the other day that said that even if Canada would let us in (which isn't likely), the crazies are there, too :(
I enjoy your woodland photos. The open lane looks like it could've been deliberately landscaped. Cool!
Agree. I hope these crazies will collapse under the weight of their own stupidity. I agree with your last thing on your blog there. Thank you
Oh! And I enjoyed this post very much. Thank you Jenn Aloha!
You Amaryllis is a beauty as are the tulips, red is such a happy color!
I love the red toaster!!! And tulips...how nice to have in the winter!
I love those splashes of red.
Sadly we have those political crazies as well.
Thanks for the woodland walks.
Love the tulips which certainly lift the spirits at this time of year.
Those are fine, fine boots. I have red carnations in a Christmas boquet that is still good today, quite a while after it arrived. The ED brings me tulips, but they don't stay nice as long.
Love your description of our Leader of the Opposition. May borrow it. Although they are both a bit lacking, really.
More snow tonight and tomorrow. JG can get out his new snowplow and go. Post about it, when I stop having to write minutes and letters.
We have an owl, daytime, surveying the feeders. Annoying bird.
...the entire world is going crazy!
Super photos, I do love the feel of your property. It’s beautiful and so friendly to wildlife. I learn a lot reading your posts. The tulips and other plants inside are very pretty and brighten up a winter morning. Your meal and banana bread look delicious! As I look at my old toaster, your new red one looks very fancy. Ah yes, comforting words are needed right now. The nasty brigades all seem to be jumping on the bandwagon of nastiness, and this year it’s only going to get worse. The conspiracy theories are unbelievable. Good luck to both our countries I say. Thanks for another enjoyable post Jenn and have a great week.
