Thanks to Eileen for hosting! Saturday's Critters # 511
I love watching the critters remotely. Much better than near the house. My oldest trailcam kicked the bucket. The one by the frogpond, I forgot to turn back on after I switched the memory cards. The one I moved to this beautiful old spruce corridor has been quite busy. I'd not realized! It is a lovely canopy up above.
The bird surprised me. I was sitting reading, and was afraid to move. Dunno. Grouse? Wood duck? I invariably get it wrong!

Butch has been active. They are madly trying to bulk up for winter!Butch & kits Sept 21 from Jennifer Jilks on Vimeo.
This is a mash up. I'm finding they are trotting very quickly through this part of the forest.trailcam from Jennifer Jilks on Vimeo.
I captured a daytime video of coyote. You can really appreciate their colours.Sept. 21 Coyote from Jennifer Jilks on Vimeo.
This was the highlight of the month. It is a short video, which gives you an idea about how fast they run.fisher Sept. 29 from Jennifer Jilks on Vimeo.

hello Jenn,
Your critter videos are always a treat. I think your first bird video is the Grouse. The Coyote is cool and I love the Fisher. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
Nice interesting captures
...do your critters smile for you?
Oh my! What is that black critter! How amazing! And I love seeing the fall colors in your banner. And that does look like a grouse to me. Hugs, Diane
I love seeing coyotes when they are loping along at a good pace. I think they can maintain that for a long time. The daytime video is great. The coat is very colorful. I've surprised coyotes out in the wild during the day when I thought it would be obvious to see me.
Our raccoons are getting pretty fat as well. The fisher is a great capture.
What was the last one?
Nice to see the critters
Those are great captures. The video quality in both daylight and night is very good. I especially liked the Fisher. Locally the ones we have are called "fisher cats." I have only seen one so far, at quite a distance. They make soe very scary sounds at night.
Such a variety of creatures.
Beautiful fur colours, that golden/orange tinge by his ears is lovely. And the pit stop, what a relief so he could run faster afterwards.
You have so much wonderful space! Thanks for sharing the woodland critters :)
Wow.
You have lots of critter activity!

Definitely more Grouse than Duck... Loved the daylight coyote... YAM xx
Without cameras we don't realize what is near us.
What a cool little bird! I’m thinking some kind of grouse but really not sure. Butch and his family are fun to watch, as are your coyotes. Never seen a fisher before, nice to see him in your video.
Thanks for sharing these ...
Happy Saturday and weekend wishes.
All the best Jan
Your critter videos never fail to entertain.
What an amazing number of different species you capture on your video rig!

The coyote caught my attention. Nice captures all, though.
They say we have coyotes up at the lake but I've never seen them. Maybe I need a critter cam!
The bird in the first video is a Ruffed Grouse.
Gosh it's never boring at your house!
Hello Jenn :=)
I found your comment in SPAM this morning, also D.G. He was the one who alerted me to the fact that he had sent a comment but it had been posted. Google has been driving me crazy just lately.
I love seeing your day and night time creatures, all so different to what I'm accustomed to seeing here and to me they all seem scary, except for the fox and Butch.
Have a good week.
Best wishes
Sonjia
The coyote has quite a fluffy tail.
