I had a project. It was time to revitalize the terrarium. I bought it at an online auction. Ordering in some fairies, I took out the plastic crap, replanted it with these plants, including polka-dot plant, which keeps growing out the top.
Sadly, the baby's breath died, and the palm plant was keenly appreciated by the late Hooper. I had to remove it. Cinnamon liked the palm plant. I had to move that, too.
In March, 2022, the copper was cleaned up. (I'll have to do that soon on a rainy day!)
Back to the present, everything was assembled on the back deck. There aren't too many days like this. This morning it was 5 C. It was cool on the back deck! I hauled out the dead stuff. Took out the mineral stained soil, and washed the little figures.
That was my project for Tuesday! Let us see what Wednesday brings.

For a few blurry morning minutes I couldn't figure out what the copper was...then looked at the copper veins on the planter. These are great for inside plants! Do they not need any sun? Mine are thinking about coming inside (I counted how many will be saved this year, it's 7 I think). Saying goodbye to a few that have graced my porch garden all summer.
My mom and I used to make terrariums -- I haven't done one in decades. I love this (and Cinnamon's curiosity!)
It sounds like a very productive day, and ended on just the right note with a cat in your lap.
That was a complicated project.
You're getting along with your projects, and the terrarium should have a good winter.
Wow! It looks like a lot got done! Hope, you will post updates about the terrarium later on when the plants get growing!
The Kiwis and a frog keeping eyes on your work !!! The copper on the terrarium is so fine, and what a finish now its all done, lovely.
You really are amazing!
Well done. I am looking forward to seeing how it does when it settles into its new plantings.
I have 2 terraria, but they are boring compared to yours. What a lovely piece!
Make sure you check and know which plants are liked by kitties but poisonous to them. They sure seem nosey about what's in there. Beautifully shaped container! Linda in Kansas
Terrariums are good projects. they keep you busy , always change and are interesting.
Hello,
I like the terrarium and your cute kitties. Take care, enjoy your day!
Take care, enjoy your day!
I used to have a terrarium in my class such a long time ago. I wonder if I could have one here in Hawaii. Thing is... we have plants year round so I guess the motivation isn't quite as strong.
Count on cats to be curious.
