Critter updates

2016 Momma outside nesting cavity

The barred owl has hatched a chick, or two. Who knows how many?! You can hear it, but you cannot see it!

I've been watching the nest for months. The details are here.

Then, I came across a veery, just beneath the nest.

You have such wonderful wildlife around your place. It must be exciting to see all the things on your walkies. - Margy

You're lucky to have the owl nest right on your yard.

I am lucky, Keith! Except, it's atop a gully, just on the neighbour's land, truthfully, with poison ivy, bear, mosquitoes and black flies in the gully!

Gosh all I've seen today is a Pidgeon!
I love owls, something about them ... and you have one on your doorstep (so to speak), fantastic!

All the best Jan
