In Golden Pond: Pond Studies 301

In the pond things are starting to move about. Spring peeper tadpoles, fairy shrimp, mosquito larva!
I love these little creatures: amphipod,
AKA: freshwater fairy shrimp.

Enjoyed both Golden Pond posts immensely -- beautiful place. Our Colorado kids" live on Golden Pond ... it's a little different, but equally as beautiful a walk.

Great video capture. I stumbled upon a giant water bug on a deck at the cabin. I didn't even know we had them in our area. They are usually pond and stream dwellers according to my research. Our section of the lake. I didn't like the thought of its nickname "toe biter." Now when I go swimming I'll be "feeling" one at my feet all the time. - Margy
