Yes, the purpose was the celebration (Trip to Kingston: An anniversary), but we left home early and made it in time to wander in the morning, visiting the market. Then, we checked into the hotel.
The market was not as robust as we each remembered. Hubby lived here for several years, he attended Queens U.
There were many busses of tourists! The hop on hop off trolley looks great! Lots of people taking a cool, windy boat tour, too!
The water was very high. Docks were submerged.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn. It was adequate! We paid extra for a harbour view. It was lovely. There were protesters, and participators. Hubby had some galetto, and we konked out in bed by 8!
The lilacs, on the drive home, were lovely!
We rallied ourselves to go out for dinner. After assisting at the 'do' that day, we were pretty tired!
The parking lot was a bit worrisome, but it didn't rise too much overnight!

What a visit, the photos give me an great view of it all, high rise, water, boats, people, and buses. So glad you had that extra time to wander and look again.
nice to see Kingston, the water levels are worrying.
The high water certainly fits in with what the lakes have been like as of late.
Well, that's a good post. You wander the market and then show off the hotel with a room with view. You had a good weekend.
