Heron and ducklings from the canoe

I took a 5-year-old canoeing. It was windy in the other part of the lake. The bay was quiet. We went in circles.

Canoeing with a 5-year-old was tricky. She wanted to lean over and touch the lily pads. We saw a heron with a big fish, and a momma duck with babies.

You're a very brave grandma to go canoeing with a five year old.

Wonderful fun, it brings back the young child in us all, and brave!! Yes!!! Did you have a life jacket on too? Love those wee babies following their mum.

What a coincidence! My daughter sent me a photo of my granddaughter paddling a canoe. She's 8 and the water was shallow, but she loved being out on her own.
