Wednesday is Yoga day on Parliament Hill lawns. We just missed them! |
Later, my first hubby and I moved to Nepean (1981), now part of Ottawa, and I've lived in the Ottawa Valley for 25 years (Osgoode, Manotick, North Gower). Trips to the city of Ottawa are a lark, now. (Aside from doctor's appointments and tests!)
As faithful readers know we now live in a wetland. For our leisure trips (National Art Gallery – Alex Colville), hubby drives. My job is to keep busy taking photos. Both of us used to bike into the city where we lived on the outskirts of Ottawa. The bike routes are really decent. The canal is a lovely place to cycle. I've edited these over last week.

We walked to Parliament Hill
Colonel By, who supervised the Canal. It is a great tourist attraction.

Great shots of the city. The pic of the Ceremonial Guard practicing, that's very close to home for me- I'm across from the university half a block east of Bronson.
Those angel sculptures near the Rideau Centre, I've never photographed them.
As for yoga, I'll have to photograph that sometime this summer. I know they do it weekly at noon on Wednesday; I've been up there one time when it was going on, but didn't have my camera.

Such a range of architecture and wide open spaces... nice trip! YAM xx
lots to see, thanks for sharing. Loving your header shot.
Nice tour of Ottawa. I'll never forget a lot of firsts in Ottawa like the canal and parliament buildings.
