Annual Festival of the Maples

Annual Festival of the Maples

This year we will be celebrating the 35th year!

We've only lived here since September 15th, 2010. We're happy to be a part of Lanark County, and Perth, Ontario

This event in downtown heritage Perth is a favourite for the entire community and visitors. They close off the streets, and have a party. I am quite looking forward to it.

The grand finale to the month-long maple celebration takes place in downtown Perth.
Maple products and taffy sales, displays of maple syrup production, maple awards, entertainment, midway, pony rides, petting zoo & children’s activities. Live musical entertainment, over 100 Craft & Artisan Vendors, Food Vendors, Classic Antique Car Display, Emergency Services Safety Demonstrations.

The Perth & District Chamber of Commerce presents this annual festival on April 30th, 2011.

Here, Oliver!
I like to celebrate all leaves. The lakes are still frozen, the sap is running, the birds are returning, bears are awake, vultures circling.
Life is good and for that I am grateful.

These are shots of the leaves frozen into the ice of Long Lake, Bala.
Silly photos, but the sun's warmth melted them into the ice. March, 2008.

Your maple festival sounds like such a lot of fun. I wish I could go. Beautiful maple leaves! I'm surprised they retained their color. Spring is around the bend.
