Camera critters #76

I love the way the birds congregate at this time of year. Formerly, when the ducks visited our shores, they would chase out an intruder from another family. Now, they all hang out together, just like the geese. There is safety in numbers, and I'm sure someone has studied this some where! My observations are simply that.

Lots of blackbirds have been gathering in our forest. There are reams of insects for them to eat! The birds fly a few at a time across the opening in our forest. Startling to watch as there are so many. Fall is approaching!

The blackbirds are a bit haunting, however. They fly in a few at a time. Then, they suddenly fill the forest or the lawn. I always think of that creepy Hitchcock film, The Birds (1963)
when I see them! I love it when they hear a noise and fly off in synchronization, a skill I never Camera Crittersmastered when on the synchro team in high school!
