Russian and German leaders are due in Poland as it marks the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II.In this, the 70th anniversary of the start of WW II, 1939, there are many tragic stories, but many heroes.
'British Schindler' greets survivors A British man who saved hundreds of children from the Holocaust by organizing train rides out of Nazi-occupied Prague welcomed nearly two dozen survivors and their families who had boarded a train to re-enact the three-day trip.
Sir Winton Nicholas, now 100 years old, rescued many young Jewish children from the grasp of the Nazis. It was his wife who found the documentation in his old notes and papers. The 4-day train trip was recreated.
We must bow in honour to those who served, led, and helped others.
