😷Respiratory Viruses

I was following our local COVID reports for years until the province shut us down. They are vague and not forthcoming. Politics. It will be impacted by an amalgamation. There are three health networks amalgamated as of January 1st, with a web page. They are calling it the South East Health Unit. They are using new electronics to connect hospitals. You never know where you will have to go for a test, a scan, or specialist.

They went from reporting 😷COVID daily, to 3 times a week on their website, and now weekly. They stopped testing for COVID, or giving away test kits. The report now includes COVID, RSV, and influenza. (We had COVID in July, 2024.) I tracked COVID locally, in order to govern our activities.

Here is the old web page, which continues until further updated web work:

  • Residents of the Counties of Lanark and Leeds & Grenville: www.healthunit.org
    • Call 1-800-660-5853

There was a closure at Perth Hospital's 3rd floor due to an influenza outbreak. It doesn't seem to be here. The reports come out on Tuesdays.

In 2024, I began following the health unit's reports. The provincial government hasn't been forthcoming and limits what we know.
