We had a mission. The wool shop and the CCWG Livestock store (est. 1918(. The leather smells were amazing. They sell bird seed, as well.
This was the purpose of our trip:
I quite like this building. It's very old. This is the equestrian store. Look at the old walls and beams!
For lunch, we went to St. James Gate Pub. We took the grandies there
Grandsitting PD Day April 15th, 2016.
It was dumping rain. I hopped out at the light and snagged a table while Joe parked the car. It was very noisy, so he took out his hearing aids. They can amp up the sound unbearably. We could barely hear one another. He ended up swinging his chair around to sit beside me so we could hear one another.
The food was good, I had leftovers.
I took a panoramic photo of the mural (Shaun McGinnis – 2008) on 61 Bridge St. with my phone. It didn't quite take, it is a straight wall. If you biggify it, you can see a creepy man in a window.
Carleton Place has a lot of murals.
People have their Hallowe'en decorations up.
The new off-leash dog park outside Perth. It seems really busy. It's a great idea to put in a fence. There is an on-leash path around the property, as well. The old barn building was removed after they fell down. The swallows were out of luck! The
old stone farm house was dismantled and rebuilt elsewhere, I believe.

I'm glad the food was good, but gracious, how awful to have lots of noise. So many restaurants seem to want that these days. I remember soft background music and people talking almost in whispers at better restaurants...oops, maybe I just am going to the wrong ones!
This looks like a fun day out (apart from not being able to hear each other in the restaurant.) The equestrian store is really interesting looking!
The smell of leather is so nice... Jenn you look so pretty in this photo. Those are the best kind of buildings...the ones with old character. Your food looks good and there was plenty of it. Love those kind of homes in that area.
Noisy restaurants are a real problem for JB and me. I do have a noise setting, but it only helps a very little. I have not been to that restaurant for a very long time, and your description isn’t really tempting me. If you haven’t tried Freska, just up the street, I recommend it for great breakfast and luncheon fare.
The food looks good and I love the Halloween decorations.
I love the Real Wool shop. A lot. And you have some fine captures of the Hallowe'en spirit.
Halloween decorations have become much more elaborate as your photos show.
Cool tour of the old building. As a wearer of hearing devices (cochlear implant in left in 2021, hearing aid in right or both since '67,) I understand Joe not wanting all that noise. Can he check with his device audiologist/programmer and get them set to decrease the noise automatically? It really helps to hear the person instead of the overhead noise, especially in a high-ceiling place that echos in our brain. My devices drop the level when I walk into a WalMart without me noticing too much and I can hear myself think! Linda in Kansas
